Armored Fracture

Quartermaster "Oi, what are you looking for, two seven two?"

Fracture stands at attention. "Uh, me and four others have a job to do out in the desert. The governer said we could borrow anything we might need. We're going to be doin' a lot of walking, so you got anything... light?"

Fracture wasn't exactly sure what they'd need. Everything here was mostly foreign to him; He certainly didn't expect to find spurjacks or pinion knives around here.

Quartermaster "Oh aye, Mensch told me you'd be coming.  Yea, I can get you something to keep the sun off your back, but careful with it still." He leads you over to a padded mannequin, on which rests a light half-skirt of mail and shaped leggings of metal-studded and reinforced canvas "This is our standard marching raiment here in Qualderwahl." 

Quartermaster "This one's not been tagged or done up yet, I think we could spare it for the time being, seein' as you're on a special assignment from the boss." He chuckles "Why, you expectin' a fight?"

Fracture: "Heh, I hope not. I have no idea what we could run into out there. Better safe than sorry, right?"

Fracture looks the raiment over. "Can I try it on?"

Quartermaster "Aye, go ahead.  It'll take a bit to get used to, though."

He helps you put it on, and while it doesn't feel too bad now, you wonder if you'll feel the same after days of marching.

Quartermaster "I suppose you'll be wanting a weapon too?"

Fracture looks at the various weapons. how in equestria do you use these? "Uh, I guess so. Um... I've never used anything like these", he waves a hoof at the various sharp, stabby things. "Anthing you think would be good for a newbie?"

He fetches something off the wall, then returns, setting it down next to you "I don't think you'll do much with something more than this, and I'd rather not loan out of my good blades, so this'll do.  Edge and point, see? You'll need your arming bridle, so be careful with it."

On the bench next to you is an inauspicious but sturdy-looking poignard, with a blade of about a foot long that looks freshly cleaned, with an attachment that goes with the bridle on your armor.

Quartermaster "Just bring it back, will you?"

Fracture picks it up in his magic, turning it around and around as the quartermaster speaks. "I'll be careful."

"And I will have it back here soon as we get back."

My RP character, Prisoner #272, a.k.a. Fracture, just got himself a set of fancy-schmancy armor... if only he knew how to use this stuff.

A few of the little details:

• I had to design this with a strict "no leather" rule; so canvas is used as a stand-in, even in the scabbard; I colored it in such a way to suggest that it's made from canvas coated in some kind of resin, which is the same principle behind carbon-fiber parts used in machinery today
• The emblem on the collar is Twilight Sparkle's cutie mark. In this game, Princesses Celestia and Luna had left Equestria to explore parts unknown (as-in 'deep space exploration'), leaving Twilight in charge.
• Those little marks on his hooves are not an error. Prisoners in Qualderwhal wear little plaques with their number on their hooves. When a prisoner is paroled and given the freedom to live as they see fit, the tags are removed, and replaced with a set of horseshoes with their number stamped in them.
• Why the ponytail? Fracture's got a sloppy mess of a mane, and he needs to keep it out of his face somehow.
